We all think of Silicon Valley as a hotbed for innovation and a source for the latest technology trends. As a software company based in the Valley, we are frequently asked: What’s the latest trend?
Lately, our answer to this question has been: The use of web-based technology to support quality education.
Web conferencing and sites with materials are certainly not new. What’s new is the nature of the content now offered. Smart companies are harnessing the web to deliver increasingly high quality content. A company can bring speakers from around the country to present new ideas tailored to the needs of it’s users. This enables more effective ways for people to learn specialized topics related to family wealth management. Financial Navigator, Inc. is certainly one of those companies striving to deliver quality education to anyone who wants to learn.
Here are three examples:
- In February 2012 we offered a webinar entitled “The Wealth Manager’s Guide to Investment Performance.” Presenting the material was Stephen Horan, PhD, CFA, CIPM. Steven is the Head of Private Wealth Management at the CFA Institute.
- In January 2012, we offered a webinar entitled “Using a Private Trust Company to Manage Family Wealth.” This new approach to structuring a legal entity for multi-generational wealth was outlined by Jill Creager, J.D., the Director of the Providence Family Offices in Tampa, Florida.
- Our Navigator Resource Center has been redesigned to highlight our latest content and to show which materials are most frequently read by visitors. This enables users to focus on materials other visitors have found to be the most informative.
These are just a few examples of how web-based technologies are greatly enhancing the way companies provide valuable training to anyone wanting to develop their skills. It is an exciting time to be learning about all the aspects of wealth management.
